Find and Apply for a US Postal Job

Finding and applying for a postal job is often very confusing. The steps below should help simplify the process. Note: The USPS is in the process of rolling out a new "eCareer" system to help you find and apply for various USPS jobs. In the meantime, follow the steps below.

Mail Processing Jobs for US Postal Service

To locate and apply for mail processing jobs, follow the process below:
(1) You find an opening announcement for a position that you are interested in.
(2) You apply online for the position.
(3) You will receive a "scheduling package" about 1 week before the exam is given (but you will not know when you will receive this package)
(4) You should begin preparing for your postal exam immediately after applying online for your USPS job.

Practice. Practice. Practice...

We highly recommend that you acquire a study guide and take practice tests before you sit for your actual exam. The key to preparation is understanding what's on the exam and practice, practice, practice.
